Red’s Midtown Tavern

Wednesday, October 01, 2014

Yesterday, I had a little get together with one of my really close group of friends from my post-secondary days. We dined at Reds Midtown Tavern located at the corner of Yonge St. and Gerard St. It was my first time being there. My first impression of the place was that the place looked fancy from the outside. Usually with the place looking fancy, the food would be pricey. The place had patios along the corner of the street and at the side along the entrance. The interior of the building had a really nice warm atmosphere. The customer service was really great. The servers were really nice and welcoming. They have a wide list of alcoholic beverages of draught beer ledger, signature cocktails, and wine. In addition, their food menu is great and interesting. However, they are quite on the pricey side. I would recommend it for a good get together place once in a while if you want to go try out something new. I would not recommend it if you’re on a college budget. It would be great though, to share food among your friends and split the bill. Here are what we ordered:

Szechuan Chicken Lettuce Wrap for $12.40

Avocado & Lobster Cobb for $26.95 - Lobster meat with crisp bacon, hard boiled egg, crouton, salad, cherry tomato, and a poached shallot dressing.

Chicken Carbonara for $18.75

Bellini
